\nGoogle’s refreshing the Android brand’s look and feel, and is officially releasing the final version of Android 10 to Pixel users this month and we’ve got all the juice.
1.\n Smart Reply now suggests actions. So when someone sends you a message \nwith an address or a YouTube video, you can open and navigate in Google \nMaps or open up the video in YouTube\u2014no copying and pasting required. \nAnd Smart Reply now works across all your favorite messaging apps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
2.\n Come to the dark side\u2026 with Dark Theme. You can enable Dark Theme for \nyour entire phone or for specific apps like Photos and Calendar. It\u2019s \neasier on your eyes, and your phone battery too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
3. Take \nadvantage of larger, edge-to-edge screens with the new gesture \nnavigation. With simple swipes, you can go backwards, pull up the \nhomescreen, and fluidly move between tasks. After switching, you won\u2019t \nwant to go back to visible buttons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
4. With a single tap, Live \nCaption will automatically caption videos, podcasts and audio messages \nacross any app\u2014even stuff you record yourself. Live Caption will become \navailable this fall, starting with Pixel.
5. You can choose to only share location data with apps while you\u2019re\n using them. You\u2019ll also receive reminders when an app that you are not \nactively using is accessing your location, so you can decide whether or \nnot to continue sharing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
6. In a new Privacy section under \nSettings, you\u2019ll find important controls like Web & App Activity and\n Ad Settings in one place. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
7. With Google Play system updates, \nimportant security and privacy fixes can now be sent to your phone from \nGoogle Play, in the same way your apps update. So you get these fixes as\n soon as they\u2019re available, without having to wait for a full OS update.
8.\n You have greater control over where and when notifications will alert \nyou. Mark notifications as \u201cSilent\u201d and they won\u2019t make noise or appear \non your lockscreen, so you’re only alerted by notifications when you \nwant to be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
9. Now Family Link is part of every device running \nAndroid 9 or 10, right in settings under Digital Wellbeing. Parents can \nuse these tools to set digital ground rules like daily screen time \nlimits, device bedtime, time limits on specific apps, and more. They can\n also review the apps children install on their devices, as well as \ntheir usage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
10. Want to be in the zone but not off the grid? \nDigital Wellbeing now brings you Focus mode. Select the apps you find \ndistracting\u2014such as email or the news\u2014and silence them until you come \nout of Focus mode. Sign up for the Beta to try it.
One\n of the most important updates will be invisible to most users: \u201cProject\n Mainline\u201d will allow Google to issue some critical security patches \ndirectly through the Play Store instead of waiting for manufacturers and\n carriers to distribute them.
